Being a CFS/Me and Fibromyalgia sufferer makes exercising very difficult. A pain flare up can occur at any time, also if I do not pace myself I can end up bedridden for several days so I have to be very mindful of what I do. When pain levels are bad the last thing I feel like doing is exercising but on the other hand if I do not get some kind of physical activity it makes the pain so much worse so it is a vicious cycle.
I find the best thing to do is low impact cardio such as walking, pedal biking which I can do sat down. I have problems with pain and balance so I am not able to walk far so I try to do a couple of laps around my living room and sit down, sometimes I need to use my crutches just to steady myself but it is better than doing nothing.
Days where I am not too bad I try to fit in small amounts of strength exercises such as squats, sit ups and ab crunches. I find small consistent sets work for me.
There is lots of varying advice online but I feel you have to listen to your body and do what is right for you. When thinking of weight loss exercise is just a small part of it, it is what you are putting into your body that is more important.
